"I'm in love with this skirt. The velvet has a nice weight to it and it feels expensive. It's also true to size. I'm a UK 14 and, despite having a bit of a belly, there is quite a bit of stretch, which makes it very comfortable. The only downside is that the buttons are a bit fiddly, but this is not a major problem. Perfect for the cooler weather."

"This a great class piece. I love the look of the knot buttons up the front and the velvet texture. Bought is summer so I was finally able to pull this skirt out my closet as the temp is finally dropping. Really surprised this skirt does not have another closure besides the hook and knot (backed by another layer of standard buttons) at the front. The skirt runs large as it does have some stretch so the waist is loose on me. This is helpful as I can put on the skirt without un-buttoning it, but then I need to add a clip or safety pin at the back of the waist to keep it on. The lack of allowed adjustment or ease of opening the skirt at the waist is surprising to me. The skirt doesn't even work with a belt as there is a hook and knot closure at the waist. Putting a belt over that stabs the rope knot into my stomach, but I'll keep playing with it. In any case, someone really missed the mark on this detail so I had to remove at least one star. Thought about removing 2 stars as closure is so important on simple piece like a skirt, but the fabric, cost and overall look are nice and I think I can make it work. I would like to size down, but as I bought this awhile ago I'm just going to make it work as well as I can or sell it. Haven't decided yet."
