Ingrid Hand Embroidered Applique Blazer Dress

beautiful but ill-fitting

"I wanted to like this so much and I gave it a good try for a couple of events. The craftsmanship is good and the embroidery looks amazing, however it's impossible to actually move in without pulling weirdly around the shoulders- the sleeves are sewn at such a close angle to the body that I can't even lift my elbow without distorting the whole look. This was my biggest issue; but I also felt that while the shoulders fit perfectly, the sleeves felt too short and, as an A-cup, even when I was just standing still the chest gapped wide open as if it were designed for large chest. This was a beautiful idea but really poor draftsmanship in my opinion and I can't recommend this unless you're just standing still all night."

Good quality, great price, high hem

"This was an absolute bargain in the sale and the quality is top notch. I had to buy a 16 rather than my usual 14 due to low availability, so it doesn't sit right when done up, but it's way too short for me to wear as a dress anyway (I'm 5'10). Plus, it does look satisfyingly oversized when unbuttoned. I fiddled with the styling a lot, but in the end, a white tee and jeans was all it needed. It is thick, canvassy fabric, so not ideal for the summer months, but I am really pleased with it."

"ABSOLUTELY STUNNING! Wore this for the first time the other night, ordered the 12 and the 10 And kept the 10 to wear as a jacket open as it fitted me better this way. I got SO many compliments and felt absolutely stunning in it! I can honestly say it’s my new favourite piece! The weight of it is gorgeous and the hand embroidery is just amazing!"

Large up top

"This was such a stunning jacket/dress. I got this for a concert and the look was absolutely perfect. The fit left a bit to be desired. The shoulders were massive but it was very tight around the waist. It is also cut very true to a blazer and therefor no movement in the shoulders, you cannot raise your arms in this without the dress moving so upward it is no longer a dress haha. Glad I wore what I did underneath so that I could wear it unbuttoned."

"Very nice jacket, good quality material the jacket even has a weight to it. The embellishments are even prettier in person! I would say the fit is true to size but the sleeves are very narrow all the way down to the wrist so keep that in mind if you plan to wear lots of layers with this piece or it could get very tight. Overall recommend, one of my new favourite pieces."
