“Distressing” Missed the Mark
"I really wanted to love this jacket because there are some genuinely lovely things about it. The denim itself is very soft and comfortable, and the print is subtle, pretty, and beautifully done. Unfortunately, the design and fit issues outweighed those positives for me. First and foremost, the distressed hole on the front left side is enormous. It’s so large that the garment tags actually hang out through the opening. Rather than giving the jacket a stylish, intentionally distressed look, it makes the garment look used, damaged, and old, not new and fashionably distressed. I’ve included photos so you can see just how large the opening actually is. The length is another significant issue. I’m 6’2”, and this jacket has been cut extremely short. It falls just below my chest and is nowhere near the belly button length shown on the model. The proportions on the actual jacket are dramatically different from how it appears in the listing photos. It’s a shame because the soft denim and gorgeous, understated print really are beautiful, and I would have happily kept it if the fit and distressing had been as pictured. Unfortunately, between the oversized hole and the extremely cropped length, the jacket looked nothing like I expected based on the listing. Promptly returned. If you’re considering purchasing, I would strongly recommend looking closely at the photos and measurements, especially if you’re tall or expecting the length shown on the model."
