"I bought these pants because I love unique looks and this half-plaid pant looked great. I was thrilled when they not only looked as cute in person, but on me! I'm short, so certain cuts can look way too boxy on me, but these are flattering and as quirky as they are, they work with a lot of tops and accessories in my wardrobe. They'll be making an appearance at my first book signing."

"I am consistently between a size 12 and size 14. I am all the way to the other side of the world in New Zealand so when I got my size 14, it was already almost over the return policy limits AND shop this thing right back to the UK would cost me so much that it's not worth it. I tried them on and I can barely button them up if I STOP breathing - typically a size 14 on me runs "just right" on the most unforgiving cuts and "I could do a 12 but I like the extra room" on others. Very disappointed, because they look cool but not keen on changing my entire appearance to fit a pair of pants."

"I love my checkmate trousers I’ve had them for years, worn them consistently and they’ve lasted really well. They definitely fit true to size in the waist but I’m 5ft 9 and they come up just my leg and sit just slightly above a standard doc marten style boot so they’re a little short. I’m personally still giving them 5 stars because I do really like that look"
